A dangerously unpredictable and angry, pitiless and cold-hearted young assassin stalks the streets of Jondar. He is the Master of the Dance, able to achieve apparently impossible assassinations, unseen. Many would like to kill him, and some try, but Blade seems to lead a charmed life. He has a destiny to fulfil, and only a lowly harlot and her familiar know what he truly is God Touched.

When Blade is beaten almost to death, a broken-nosed whore saves him and nurses him back to health, starting a strange relationship that will endure all through Blade’s career and beyond. Lilu loves the assassin, despite his cold heart and scathing tongue, and her love and aid earn his protection, even though he will never admit to helping her.

Blade struggles to come to terms with what his, but uses it to his advantage as an assassin, succeeding at seemingly impossible assignments and earning two titles; the Invisible Assassin and the Silent Slayer. Even though he seeks death’s release so he can be with his familiar again, a destiny awaits Blade, for which he must survive, and therein lies the strangeness of one who is God Touched.

God Touched The Queen Blade Book 8 eBook T C Southwell

As with Dead Son, I think is one of my favorite books in the whole set. Having read this "prequel" after having finished the series, it did a great job of shedding light on Blade's personality. In addition to that, I found it to be one of the most well-written of the series. Given that I liked the character Blade, these two books covering his early years were like a great bonus treat. This book also covers far more of the Lilu character, something else I enjoyed and something that served to add an after-the-fact depth of character to the series as a whole. I might even like these two books better than the series as a whole (but would not have liked them had I not liked the series as a whole, so there's the tricky bit). I highly recommend investing the time to "finish" up the story by reading this book and the one that before it.

God Touched The Queen Blade Book 8 eBook T C Southwell Reviews

If you loved Blade in the series, you'll appreciate him more now. You'll also understand the relationship between Lilu and Blade better.. and probably liked Lilu a good bit more.
T C Southwell has excelled in this 6 book series with the two prequels as well!!! After reading the first book, I was hooked and read straight through to the end!!!
Great prequel to the queens blade wish I had read it first great series can't wait to read the rest..again you become involved as in the game of thrones series with the characters you need to know what happens to them
This is one of two prequels to the Queen's Blade series, which I read before reading the prequels. These could stand on their own, though. I still would have preferred that the whole set of readings was combined into one book, but other than that, this was fun to read with well-written characters.
I'm not going to write too much for this series except to say that I liked the series and the price was right. Southwell seems able to come up with neat characters who thankfully win in the end, which is a good book recipe. This review will appear in the other two books too.
I enjoy every aspect of this book and the entire series, it was thought provoking and kept my attention even when I stopped reading each time.

I was drawn on to read the next book, each a treasure on it's own. I found myself thinking about the unfolding story when I was busy elsewhere turning over events or conversations always eager to continue on the journey when I got the chance.

To the author I would like to say, Thank you.

I read this pre-quell of the Queens Blade and promptly began reading the whole series again,( apart from the irritating 'ten day and time glass ' references) I found that after reading God Touched and Conash Dead Son which gave the background to our hero's behaviour and attitude made the second time around even more enjoyable..although one or two of his 'mishaps' had me thinking 'Oh no not again' even so in re-reading, thoughts of "I don't remember that part" which made me realise that I was unintentionally 'speed reading' to see what happened next, So a re-read was a thoroughly enjoyable experience--- my own opinion anyway. I am going to check out more of this author..
